Good luck getting anyone to answer the phone.

Review by Melissa Bennefield

I worked for GHS for five years & always enjoyed the discounted prices & convenience of the Greer location. I continue to use them & now my fiancé uses them as well. Long story short, I fell Monday & broke my arm, went to MD 360 & picked up the the Norco prescription that was e-scribed for me at Upstate Greer. I saw the hand surgeon this afternoon & was given a printed prescription for a stronger narcotic to take until surgery next week. My fiancé went inside Upstate Pharmacy in Greer because there was a line in drive thru. He handed the prescription to the young lady, she looked at it, then walked over to show it to the female pharmacist, who glanced at the prescription, then for all in the store to hear, said “this is an illegal prescription & we cannot fill it”. My fiancé told her we had driven straight from the surgeons office there. She was adamant that he could take it anywhere in town & they would not fill it due to the security feature on the paper not being legible. After returning to the car, I walked inside, hoping for clarity. The young, female pharmacist told me loudly over the counter for all to hear that I had an illegal prescription & she would not fill it, that the doctor would need to e-scribe it to them or I would need to go back to his office. Guess what? It was 5:15, office was closed. From the pain I had felt since Monday, I couldn’t imagine a night without any medication. Needless to say this pharmacist showed no concern or empathy. At this point, I tried reaching the answering service for my surgeon but could not get through. I continued while my fiancé drove a half mile to Walgreens. I walked in, prepared to be humiliated again, but was pleasantly surprised when my prescription was filled, no questions or concerns! I was glad but furious that this obviously inexperienced pharmacist at Upstate had basically called us criminals in the store for all to hear & for NO reason! Upstate Pharmacy...you won’t have to worry about this lady or her family’s business anymore. Your obviously uneducated pharmacist should consider her tone & language use, especially in front of other customers. Upstate, it seems that this individual should be re-educated about the “opioid epidemic” & how not every person who is prescribed narcotics is an addict or criminal. I am considering discussing this incident with my attorney. I feel humiliated & degraded after my visit today, which will be my last!

A great place to go if you wanna get the wrong meds and wrong counts and if you question them about it, it's you're fault, I mean the head pharmacy guy makes like $20 a hour. And can't count, but hey if you want Opioids they got bottles ready for you, welcome to big medicine.

Been going to Upstate Medical Pharmacy in Greer for 9 months with many prescriptions. The service and friendly attitude there is truly outstanding. I have suffered a few strokes and a heart attack at beginning of year and I must say they have made it so much easier to deal with all the meds I have been dealing with. My thanks to the whole crew

What is a Dispensary?

A dispensary is a store that sells special items or dispenses the specialized items. Cannabis or marijuana dispensariers started in the US some time in the early 1990’s when Dennis Peron opend the San Francisro Cannbis Buyers Club. Back then the cannabis dispensary faced a ton of hardships, but Dennis, his team and dream helped pave the future for all future recreational and medical cannabis dispensaries. In 2014 the first recreational dispensary, 3D Cannabis opened it’s doors in Colorado. As of 4-1-19 33 states have medical dispensaries and 10 states have recreational dispensaries.

At a dispnsary one will find many differnt kinds of cannabis flowers (buds) and concentrates, edibles along with smoking untensils, but have a limited selection compared to online shops like Elev8 Glass Gallery. The dispensary also will have what is called a budtender to help you find what you are looking for. If you need help with cannabis info Elev8 Presents is a good resource.

What is the difference between a medical or recreational dispensary?

In realtiy medical and recreational dispensaries are the same thing. This all comes down to the states laws on cannabis. We feel cannabis is just like alcohol and medical will happen first and then recreational will follow, and so far history is showing this. Dispensaries are an excellent place for patients and recreational smokers alike to find the cannabis that best suits their needs!
