My very first visit was delightful. Holly and Jeannie were both very professional, polite, and expedient. Dr. Michael Nelson was very knowledgeable and spent time explaining the process. There is never any urgency to get us out as quickly as possible. It was a very relaxed atmosphere. As well as the people, the process is working fabulously. We have stuck to the plan Dr. Nelson outlined for us and we have had nothing but success. I would recommended Sierra Tahoe Wellness Center to anyone who wishes to lose weight and increase one's health status, both physical and mental.

AMAZING!!! I owe a special thanks to a friend who referred me, but and even greater thanks to Dr. Nelson. Without his knowledge of nutrition, functional medicine and top of the line supplements, I would still be in pain and searching for answers at endless doctor appointments. For years I struggled with inflammation and pain. I even switched my diet and transitioned to gluten free over two years ago. Approximately eighteen months ago I was no longer able to exercise and struggled to make it through the day. I refused to accept prescriptions for an answer to the unexplained pain. In March I had my first appointment and within three days I felt 100% better! Within sixty days I was able to begin running again! The ladies in the office are great! Contact Dr. Nelson's office, you won't regret it! Your body and mind will thank you!

Dr. Nelson is a highly skilled practitioner who knows nutrition and functional medicine. He has helped put me on my path to wellness when other physicians weren't recognizing symptoms I was experiencing as problematic. I feel extremely grateful to have access to his wealth of knowledge, cutting-edge supplements, and integrative approach to medicine. Thanks to Sierra Tahoe Wellness Center for keeping my health in balance and out of the hands of the pharmaceutical companies!

I am feeling so much healthier and have so much energy! I sleep better and I have dropped 10 pounds! I never thought I could survive without caffeine, especially since I am a night shift worker, but I have been off it for 3 weeks and have MORE energy than before. I am very much looking forward to adding some of my favorite foods back in to my diet, but I feel I have now learned to appreciate the taste of pure foods, and that will last for the rest of my life. I have always eaten everything smothered in sauces but I am a new woman. And who'd have thunk I could survive without my beloved beer? Well, I am doing it and I am happy about it! Thank You Dr. Nelson! And Holly too!

My first apt and consult with Dr. Nelson was very informative. Holly at the front desk was awesome and super friendly. I was very impressed with Dr. Nelson knowledge of functional medicine and his genuine interest in helping with my concerns. I left with a feeling of relief that maybe I finally found a doctor that was able to get to the root of my issues. Would have given 5 stars except my second apt I got rushed thru and left with a lot of questions that he didn't have time to answer due to other waiting patients. That was a little disappointing so early in process. I am hoping this isn't the norm and will review again after I have more time in this program. I have seen a couple negative reviews in regards to the program cost being $6000-8000. Although it has been pretty pricey so far, I have not been told that I would be incurring those kind of costs. I am still optimistic and hope my experience here will be a great one. -Cherie Klein

What is a Dispensary?

A dispensary is a store that sells special items or dispenses the specialized items. Cannabis or marijuana dispensariers started in the US some time in the early 1990’s when Dennis Peron opend the San Francisro Cannbis Buyers Club. Back then the cannabis dispensary faced a ton of hardships, but Dennis, his team and dream helped pave the future for all future recreational and medical cannabis dispensaries. In 2014 the first recreational dispensary, 3D Cannabis opened it’s doors in Colorado. As of 4-1-19 33 states have medical dispensaries and 10 states have recreational dispensaries.

At a dispnsary one will find many differnt kinds of cannabis flowers (buds) and concentrates, edibles along with smoking untensils, but have a limited selection compared to online shops like Elev8 Glass Gallery. The dispensary also will have what is called a budtender to help you find what you are looking for. If you need help with cannabis info Elev8 Presents is a good resource.

What is the difference between a medical or recreational dispensary?

In realtiy medical and recreational dispensaries are the same thing. This all comes down to the states laws on cannabis. We feel cannabis is just like alcohol and medical will happen first and then recreational will follow, and so far history is showing this. Dispensaries are an excellent place for patients and recreational smokers alike to find the cannabis that best suits their needs!
