Review by Karen Johns

I was truly at the end of my rope! For two years I suffered from burning mouth syndrome, which led to severe swallowing issues. I was eating nothing, drinking very little, and extremely depressed. After seeking help from several MDs who could find no clinical cause for my symptoms, a friend sold me on the idea of acupuncture. When I started my research, Mark’s website immediately caught my attention since he specializes in psychosomatic disorders. To say I am a “new person“ would be putting it mildly. Not only does Mark make me feel comfortable mentally, physically, and spiritually, he has changed my life, my faith, and started me on a journey towards holistic healing. I have no doubt he is meant for this calling—ACUPUNCTURE: A JAB WELL DONE! Thank you Mark with all of my heart!

Mark is an excellent acupuncturist and health and nutrition advisor. After many months of physical therapy for my very painful back problems with little result, I decided to try acupuncture for the first time and turned to Mark. And that has made all the difference! After following his advice on nutrition and workouts along with his treatments, I am now practically pain free! Many days of no discomfort, I am able to drive and do work again. Mark is a very capable and compassionate man. Make no mistake, if you follow his advice and treatments he WILL help you. Thank you again, Mark, I feel like I have my life back.

I went to see Mark Gutkin after reading a couple of positive reviews, about a search to solve my worsening insomnia. I am a solid, eight-hour sleeper who was suddenly unable to stay asleep at night. By the time I was down to two hours a night, I was exhausted, lacked any energy and beginning to worry about my mental health and acuity. Every test known to American medicine failed to reveal any issue, and every doctor just wanted to prescribe a sleep med. I was desperate to find a solution that didn’t come from a pill bottle. To make a long story short: after two sessions with Mark, I was suddenly back to five hours a night. Then six, seven and, in about six weeks, eight full, restful hours, every night. I now have almost a full year of feeling like myself again, all thanks to this very talented acupuncturist. But Mark Gutkin is at his best when allowed to also advise and guide in areas of nutrition, wellness and, in a non-intrusive, wholly supporting manner, spirituality. For those of us who think anything other than our Western medicine is quackery and wives’ tales, talking to Mark about getting one’s body in balance, avoiding “cold” foods, letting go of conflict and grief...mumbo jumbo, right? And in the hands of many practitioners, mumbo jumbo is all it is. But with Mark, it’s very real, and incredibly effective. In short, if you just want to relieve an ongoing headache or get a better night’s sleep, Mark may be your best choice, but not your only choice. What Mark offers is hard to describe in a short review, so suffice it to say that he is a gifted and dedicated practitioner of Eastern medicine and his own brand of comprehensive life balancing. He does not employ guilt, he does not try to convert you to anything. He does his acupuncture and he talks to you, and what you derive from his care is really up to you. I am a healthy individual who tends only to contract weird illnesses and complaints, and despite blind adherence to Western medical thought I had to face that my doctors were not helping with even a diagnosis, let alone an acceptable cure. I went to Mark with an open mind, but with a predisposition to believing he would not be able to help. I am so happy I was wrong. If you are in the Stamford area and if your mind is open even a little, consider giving Mark Gutkin a call. He can and will help you...if you let him!

Mark is the best!! He truly cares for his clients, is very thorough, takes his time and most importantly will help you with your health concerns. I’ve seen quite a few acupuncturists in the area and he is by far the best.

When I threw out my lower back, Mark came to my home to treat me. It was far more than your average acupuncture treatment. He diagnosed what got me there, advised me on healing and preventative habits including diet changes and more. He made time to treat me outside of regular business hours for an additional 2 sessions after which I was back to 100%. I'm a big fan, and now, a loyal customer.

What is a Dispensary?

A dispensary is a store that sells special items or dispenses the specialized items. Cannabis or marijuana dispensariers started in the US some time in the early 1990’s when Dennis Peron opend the San Francisro Cannbis Buyers Club. Back then the cannabis dispensary faced a ton of hardships, but Dennis, his team and dream helped pave the future for all future recreational and medical cannabis dispensaries. In 2014 the first recreational dispensary, 3D Cannabis opened it’s doors in Colorado. As of 4-1-19 33 states have medical dispensaries and 10 states have recreational dispensaries.

At a dispnsary one will find many differnt kinds of cannabis flowers (buds) and concentrates, edibles along with smoking untensils, but have a limited selection compared to online shops like Elev8 Glass Gallery. The dispensary also will have what is called a budtender to help you find what you are looking for. If you need help with cannabis info Elev8 Presents is a good resource.

What is the difference between a medical or recreational dispensary?

In realtiy medical and recreational dispensaries are the same thing. This all comes down to the states laws on cannabis. We feel cannabis is just like alcohol and medical will happen first and then recreational will follow, and so far history is showing this. Dispensaries are an excellent place for patients and recreational smokers alike to find the cannabis that best suits their needs!
