Dr. Morcom has been a big help to me. I came to see him after trying to heal my leaky gut for over a year and being diagnosed with an autoimmune condition. We were able to eliminate the inflammation and heal my autoimmune within only a few months and I'm now off my medication. I've recommended him and his work to many friends and family members...you don't have to settle for a lifetime of meds!

Soon after delivering my first baby, I developed symptoms and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease after a year of seeing multiple doctors. My rheumatologist told me to stop breastfeeding my baby; treatment of the disease would consist of taking methotrexate and then a biologic drug like Humira (an immunosuppressant). However, after researching the drugs, I knew I wanted to explore other options. I was in a lot of pain (it was difficult to walk and sleep), an emotional wreck, and feeling hopeless. A friend suggested functional medicine and I quickly found Dr. Morcom. That’s when I regained hope. He ran extensive lab work on me and found I had some major gut issues – a bacterial dysbiosis as well as a significant candida problem. He recommended a strict diet and an antimicrobial regimen. After following his advice for a couple months, my inflammation numbers have gone from sky high to normal levels and my pain has decreased tremendously! I can walk and sleep again! Dr. Morcom gave me my life back and I feel so empowered after accomplishing what my rheumatologist essentially told me was impossible. I have not completed the protocol yet, but I am blown away by the results so far, and confident I will only feel better and better. Dr. Morcom is a wealth of knowledge, and having him as a resource has been invaluable. He is caring, obviously passionate about helping people, and thoroughly answers all of my questions. It’s such a nice contrast from my experience with other doctors. I can often tell they’re rushed to move on to the next appointment, but I don’t feel that way with Dr. Morcom. The online portal Dr. Morcom uses is great because it includes all of our visit summaries (with detailed directions and explanations), lab results, and you can message him directly from the portal. I do that often, and he’s responsive! It’s also very easy to order any of the supplements/vitamins he recommends. Thank you Dr. Morcom for getting to the root cause of my health issues (instead of just medicating to treat the symptoms), teaching me what my body needs to heal, and helping me out of a very scary and low point in my life. I will be forever grateful!

I came to Dr. Morcom for constipation/bloating, food sensitivities and mental health issues (trying to taper off antidepressants after 12 years on them), after I had already worked with a dietitian for 6 months. He had a significantly better scientific/clinical understanding of the problem and diagnosed me with SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth). I really liked his focused approach -- instead of trying to tackle all the tertiary issues, he saw SIBO as the primary thing to target. After doing blood tests to confirm SIBO, he put me on a strict no-sugar diet and provided supplement recommendations to kill the overgrown bacteria. After 6 months of the diet and the supplements, he "cleared" my SIBO, but helped me understand how to prevent it from returning. My stomach issues are gone, and I've gotten off of my antidepressants! I was impressed with his scientific knowledge of how the bacteria works and the best ways to kill it, while being mindful of the body as a whole. I appreciated his responsiveness to messages on the patient portal, where I could ask him quick questions. I love how he provides appointment summaries, where he summarizes our discussion and his recommendations, and he also provides handouts and documents to help me learn more about SIBO and its treatment. Since my insurance didn't accept his appointments or supplements, I appreciated how he kept finances in mind, often adding a discount to my supplements. I would and already have recommend him to a friend with SIBO, because of his in-depth knowledge of the science of the body and his ability to explain it to me in a way that I can learn.

I ended up in Dr. Morcom's office desperate for help and answers to my inexplicable digestive issues and unusual allergies after my investigations through the Family and GI doctors went nowhere. Dr. Morcom explained to me how environmental toxicity and food quality affect my gut health and recommended a step treatment to recover. He used a methodical process, with specific blood and DNA tests, to figure out metabolic issues, vitamin and mineral deficiencies and why I have a reaction to certain foods. Another thing he helped me with is dealing with taking antibiotics after a surgical procedure. The supplements recommended helped me tremendously with the digestive issues and recovery of the gut flora. I do not know what I would have done without Dr. Morcom's help. I have been in treatment with natural, non toxic supplements for over half a year now and I feel so much better. I am very thankful for the positive results I have under his care!

What i first noticed about Dr. Morcom is his ability to be fully present and to really listen to my journey. During the consultation he communicated clearly and increased my knowledge base of how and why the systems in my body were compromised. Then he explained the process of the 5 steps that lead to restorative healing. It has been a great education for me and I am well informed to think differently about my nutrition and life style needs. I recommend Dr. Mocom because I am free of pain and anxiety for four months now as I follow the guidelines he provided. I even experienced significant relief in the first week. He identified the root cause and prescribed a regimen of diet and supplements to correct it. The benefits have been greater to my health and wellness than I could have imagined. Not only physically, but also mentally, emotionally and psychologically. Staying committed to the process has paid off. I can exercise and clean house, concentrate and converse more clearly. I am more present and grateful and hopeful.

What is a Dispensary?

A dispensary is a store that sells special items or dispenses the specialized items. Cannabis or marijuana dispensariers started in the US some time in the early 1990’s when Dennis Peron opend the San Francisro Cannbis Buyers Club. Back then the cannabis dispensary faced a ton of hardships, but Dennis, his team and dream helped pave the future for all future recreational and medical cannabis dispensaries. In 2014 the first recreational dispensary, 3D Cannabis opened it’s doors in Colorado. As of 4-1-19 33 states have medical dispensaries and 10 states have recreational dispensaries.

At a dispnsary one will find many differnt kinds of cannabis flowers (buds) and concentrates, edibles along with smoking untensils, but have a limited selection compared to online shops like Elev8 Glass Gallery. The dispensary also will have what is called a budtender to help you find what you are looking for. If you need help with cannabis info Elev8 Presents is a good resource.

What is the difference between a medical or recreational dispensary?

In realtiy medical and recreational dispensaries are the same thing. This all comes down to the states laws on cannabis. We feel cannabis is just like alcohol and medical will happen first and then recreational will follow, and so far history is showing this. Dispensaries are an excellent place for patients and recreational smokers alike to find the cannabis that best suits their needs!
