Review by Jessica Jean

Came in as a new patient for an eye exam. I was treated with impatience and frustration when I expressed concern for the time constraint I was under after the appointment started late. I ended up canceling and paying a $50 cancellation fee. I had no issue paying the cancellation fee, but was disappointed with the lack of customer service. Will not be rescheduling and will take my service elsewhere.

Every experience I've had with Sharon at Crystal Optical has been very pleasant and enjoyable. She is highly professional, interacts well with clients, and will seek out frames from other sources if they are not available at her shop. This is a one-person enterprise colocated with a medical office, so I don't expect it to be open nights and weekends.

I was in Alexandria on business and my eyeglasses needed to be repaired. I walked into Crystal Optical without an appointment, and Sharon, the optician, was very courteous and professional. Within five minutes, she had repaired my eyeglasses and I was on my way. Thank you for great service.

I agree with the other reviewer! I called and spoke with Sharon, who told me to come and order my frames on Thursday or Friday, when she would "definitely be there." I took time off work to accommodate her hours, and when I got there, the place was closed. The receptionist at Dr. Clark's said Sharon had "taken the day off." I was so insulted that Sharon had wasted my time and money that I called her the following Monday. She was unapologetic and did not seem to think she had done anything wrong, even though she had blown off a customer who had clearly expressed interest in buying lenses and frames totaling about $310. I don't care if the frames are hard to find. I don't put up with such poor customer service, and I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

What is a Dispensary?

A dispensary is a store that sells special items or dispenses the specialized items. Cannabis or marijuana dispensariers started in the US some time in the early 1990’s when Dennis Peron opend the San Francisro Cannbis Buyers Club. Back then the cannabis dispensary faced a ton of hardships, but Dennis, his team and dream helped pave the future for all future recreational and medical cannabis dispensaries. In 2014 the first recreational dispensary, 3D Cannabis opened it’s doors in Colorado. As of 4-1-19 33 states have medical dispensaries and 10 states have recreational dispensaries.

At a dispnsary one will find many differnt kinds of cannabis flowers (buds) and concentrates, edibles along with smoking untensils, but have a limited selection compared to online shops like Elev8 Glass Gallery. The dispensary also will have what is called a budtender to help you find what you are looking for. If you need help with cannabis info Elev8 Presents is a good resource.

What is the difference between a medical or recreational dispensary?

In realtiy medical and recreational dispensaries are the same thing. This all comes down to the states laws on cannabis. We feel cannabis is just like alcohol and medical will happen first and then recreational will follow, and so far history is showing this. Dispensaries are an excellent place for patients and recreational smokers alike to find the cannabis that best suits their needs!
