I have been a regular patron/client of the Chinese Acupuncture and Herbology Clinic for two decades. The wonderful doctors at the clinic of Oriental Medicine can treat all aspects of overall health. I count on them to keep my immune system and overall health stronger and my energy balanced with acupuncture treatments and herbal remedies. Their knowledge is vast and their practitioners are caring and kind. This is a fantastic resource for health in Western North Carolina.

I had lower back pain and my Dr recommended surgery. I have many friends who have been made worse by back surgery. So my Dr said I should try acupuncture. I have been going here for over six months now and I am pain free and doing great.

I am a great big fan of the Chinese Acupuncture and Herbology Clinic. It is such a healing and peaceful place to visit. My main practitioners are Karen Litton and Dennis Harrison. Both are gentle souls who listen without judgment and hold space for their patients. Sometimes Dennis will say, "Well, I just wanted to set up a space for healing." Both have a background in both social work and massage therapy. Dennis taught me some Judo wrist stretches that helped recurrent wrist pain. Karen is just a kind soul that I want to emulate to make my life better! In addition to extremely skilled and emotionally intelligent practitioners, the support staff is also amazing. Adam is an efficient and friendly office manager-type who also handles billing. Gay is warm and welcoming. Tess, who is also studying to become an Acupuncturist at the moment, is a gentle and skilled assistant. The co-founder, Cissy, also started the Acupuncture College in Asheville, the college clinic, and serves on the state licensing board. She travels around the world doing all sorts of things. And she is an expert in treating folks diagnosed with cancer. She recently gave a free talk on cancer that was so helpful for myself and others. Do yourself a favor: Head over to the Chinese Acupuncture and Herbology Clinic and receive the healing and peace available to you there.

What is a Dispensary?

A dispensary is a store that sells special items or dispenses the specialized items. Cannabis or marijuana dispensariers started in the US some time in the early 1990’s when Dennis Peron opend the San Francisro Cannbis Buyers Club. Back then the cannabis dispensary faced a ton of hardships, but Dennis, his team and dream helped pave the future for all future recreational and medical cannabis dispensaries. In 2014 the first recreational dispensary, 3D Cannabis opened it’s doors in Colorado. As of 4-1-19 33 states have medical dispensaries and 10 states have recreational dispensaries.

At a dispnsary one will find many differnt kinds of cannabis flowers (buds) and concentrates, edibles along with smoking untensils, but have a limited selection compared to online shops like Elev8 Glass Gallery. The dispensary also will have what is called a budtender to help you find what you are looking for. If you need help with cannabis info Elev8 Presents is a good resource.

What is the difference between a medical or recreational dispensary?

In realtiy medical and recreational dispensaries are the same thing. This all comes down to the states laws on cannabis. We feel cannabis is just like alcohol and medical will happen first and then recreational will follow, and so far history is showing this. Dispensaries are an excellent place for patients and recreational smokers alike to find the cannabis that best suits their needs!
